In 2024, Studio J – the production unit of the Lëtzebuerger Journal – produced and released 47 podcast episodes, amounting to over 28 hours of audio content, featuring 7 hosts and more than 125 guests behind its microphones.
Round tables, reports, and talk shows.
In Luxembourgish, French, English, and German.
We went above and beyond to find the best stories and tell them in the best possible way.
8 collaborative podcasts, 39 episodes
In Mäin Element – a podcast that shines a spotlight on the people behind research in Luxembourg, produced in collaboration with the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR) – 6 new researchers shared their stories with Max Kasel.
Evergreens by Spuerkeess continued its role as a financial educator with diverse, varied, and always captivating topics, spread across 14 episodes. In total, more than 40 guests joined Bryan Ferrari at the table.
Internship contracts, social elections, and pension reform—topics that catered to both the young and the older generations—were covered in the 7 episodes of the New Work podcast, produced in collaboration with the Chambre des salariés.
Never short on energy, Max Kasel followed up with 4 new episodes of the Gréng op den Oueren podcast in collaboration with Enovos. The microphones traveled from offices to field sites to discuss hydrogen, smart homes, and women in the energy sector.
Hand in hand with the Chambre des Métiers, we added another brick to the Craft you balance podcast with an episode on the important topic of workplace well-being.
Not bad, eh?
But that’s not all… New podcasts have joined an already impressive catalog.
The newcomers
In March, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Diversity joined the family with the podcast Et Geet Dach !. Hosted by Morena Luisi, the show featured 4 episodes where 16 guests spoke candidly about equality in their fields—no holds barred.
Next came Den Jobcast, a podcast highlighting the inspiring journeys of individuals who found their path through the Agence pour le développement de l'emploi (ADEM). With 2 emotionally charged episodes, it marks the beginning of a series set to make waves in 2025.
While some were already thinking about the Christmas turkey, Studio J was working on a new podcast. The first episode of "Komm mol an de Büro!" with the Fédération des Artisans allowed us to finish the year on a high note.
We mentioned it: round tables, reports, talks…
But also long-term storytelling!
A series "like the one we know on Netflix"
Studio J partnered with the Lëtzebuerger Journal newsroom for a major journalistic project: D'Hoffnungsdréier.
For over a year, Maxime Toussaint and Misch Pautsch followed the Luxembourg Paralympic Committee and Luxembourgish para-athletes in their preparation for the 2024 Paralympics. This led to more than 60 interviews, around 30 hours of raw audio content, 8 episodes, and a trip to Paris where they witnessed Tom Habscheid bringing home a medal – the first in 40 years! – for the Grand-Duchy.
And the reviews are in.
In its Wat lauschters du? segment, Radio 100,7 described D'Hoffnungsdréier as a series "like the ones we know on Netflix, " "easy to praise, " and "a must-listen."
In Luxembourgish, German, French, and English. In offices, on field sites, or over a beer. From sports to politics, and inclusion in between, the podcast covered a wide range of topics in a journalistic manner, while never forgetting the essence of the podcast format: authenticity and intimacy.
"Sport, passion, ups and downs, representation, politics, physical and mental health, research, and much more. All in the same podcast."
Maxime Toussaint, Head of Podcasts
All of this is available for free on Spotify, thanks to our sponsors: the Luxembourg Paralympic Committee and LUNEX.
A new era of long-term storytelling podcasts?
See you next year.;-)
Behind a microphone… or in writing
Let’s not forget that we’ve also done a fair amount of writing.
The series Moteurs de la société with Losch, Evergreens by Spuerkeess, and Cactus put our writing talents to the test.
Phew! What a year… 2025 has a lot to live up to!
We're ready.
