"This is not good for Luxembourg"
By Pascal Steinwachs, Lex Kleren Switch to German for original article
Ex-LSAP Labour Minister Georges Engel talks to us about misguided political developments, disappointed expectations and the growing frustration among the population. A conversation about power, responsibility and missed opportunities.
LSAP politician Georges Engel was mayor of Sanem, MP and parliamentary group leader for 15 years before becoming Minister of Labour and Sport in January 2022, following the withdrawal of his party colleague Dan Kersch from the government. Today, Engel is just a simple MP, but is happy to speak out if something doesn't suit him. The interview took place shortly before the major demonstration against government policy on 28 June.
Lëtzebuerger Journal: You should actually be grateful to the current government. Georges Engel: That's true, but it's bad for Luxembourg. Crises are not good for our country. Luxembourg needs stability, which it currently lacks.
