Move something

Mandy Minella was once ranked 66th in the world in women's tennis. She has now even made it into the top 60, albeit not in tennis, but in her new life as a DP MP.

When we meet Mandy Minella, the rain has stopped after having poured down all night. So nothing stands in the way of a short photo session, for which we head to Grund before the actual interview, even though the Alzette has risen sharply.

To warm up, we talk about tennis, among other things, and at some point Steffi Graf comes up, and even we, who have to defend our reputation as die-hard sports grouches, know her. We know Graf more for her cameo appearance in the classic Otto film Der Außerfriesische than for her Wimbledon victories, which amuses Minella, who has also seen the Otto film.

In the course of the conversation, however, we naturally talk more about politics than tennis and trashy film comedies from the 80s. The former world-class player, who was at first attempt elected sixth on the DP's southern list in the last chamber elections, moving up to the Chamber of Deputies together with Barbara Agostino when the two top-elected Max Hahn and Claude Meisch took on government responsibility again, answers every question very conscientiously, in great detail and very honestly.
