NGOs see Luxembourg's time in Human Rights Council as mixed bag

NGOs have drawn up a mixed assessment of Luxembourg's term of office on the UN Human Rights Council.
On 31 December last, the Grand Duchy completed its very first term of office at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva. Three intense and testing years for the team of permanent representative Marc Bichler, and ultimately fruitful since Luxembourg made a good impression, as we indicated in our previous article. However, the Luxembourg mandate in Geneva has not necessarily met with the same enthusiasm from NGOs as it has from other members of the UNHRC and observers from the diplomatic world.
