Cases in which it has been forensically proven that a person was secretly injected with a substance using a needle in a public setting are entirely absent worldwide. So far, not a single instance has been verified by investigations. But where does this discrepancy come from, when reports with real symptoms continue to surface in (social) media?
The idea of being secretly injected with a substance by an unknown person with a syringe in passing probably sends shivers down anyone's spine. All the more so when the reports are piling up and, according to media coverage, there seem to be real waves of needle-spiking attacks at festivals or concerts. A case has now also been publicised in Luxembourg, in which a person claims to have fallen victim to such an attack.
