The previous government reformed waste legislation with the aim of reducing the amount of waste generated in Luxembourg. A laudable goal. After all, politics should shape things, seek answers to problems and tackle challenges in the interests of everyone – or at least a solid majority.

However, the implementation of what sounds good on paper is often fraught with questions and sometimes even resistance. The application of the waste package is no different. Both with regard to changes that have already come into effect and measures that are yet to be announced.
