AutiHD creates new opportunities for Luxembourg's job market

Joël Schmit knows first-hand the challenges that people with autism face in everyday life and on the labour market. However, instead of despairing at the obstacles, he has decided to make a change. With his start-up AutiHD, he wants to enable those affected to lead a more self-determined life and support companies in making the world of work more inclusive and accessible.

Joël Schmit hadn't actually planned to set up a company. Initially, he was just looking for help for himself: "The therapeutic support in Luxembourg is not good. You have to wait ages for a first appointment with a psychologist and even the follow-up appointments are often far too far apart. I needed a permanent companion, " he explains in an interview with the Journal. He only found apps that offered such permanent support on the American and British markets, to which there is no access here. So he founded his own company, AutiHD, together with Ksenia Golubeva and Aleksandr Fedorov. It is currently in the development phase of an app and also advises companies on the recruitment of people with autism and ADHD.

Help for those affected

The Mindory app he has developed is currently in the beta test phase. "We plan to launch it on the market at the end of this year." No diagnosis is required to use it. "Anyone who can benefit from it should do so." It currently covers two main problems that Joël Schmit and his team identified in a market analysis: "Managing their own stress levels and time management are the biggest challenges for people with autism, particularly in the world of work but also in everyday life in general." In an initial phase, the app is intended to support people in their everyday lives. Schmit and his team are also working on a special version for companies, for which a pilot project with a large institution in the Luxembourg financial sector is planned from December.
