64 cards - 64 elements that define a podcast. Inspiration cards that stimulate discussion, promote media literacy and strengthen democracy. A cooperation between the Lëtzebuerger Journal and DW Akademie.
The Lëtzebuerger Journal launches the Luxembourgish version of the Methodkit for Podcasts – in cooperation with DW Akademie, the international media development centre of Deutsche Welle.
The Methodkit is an educational tool developed by DW Akademie in cooperation with podcast experts from all over the world, it invites you to discover all aspects of podcasting: from the idea to the release.
The game contains 64 cards. Each card represents a key element that plays an important role in the creation of a podcast, but also creates a common language for creative participants and storytellers.
All voices deserve to be heard
With this project, the Lëtzebuerger Journal has a clear goal: to spark discussion, empower individuals through workshops, and help them build a voice that resonates widely.
"The aim is to encourage all those who want to actively participate in discussions, to promote media literacy and strengthen democracy."
Maxime Toussaint, Lead of the project at the Lëtzebuerger Journal
The podcast is one of the most accessible media formats. Anyone can record their voice and share it online. To reach your listeners and target group though, you have to master the basics.
That's what the Methodkit as a card game brings to the table. The aim is to encourage all those who want to actively participate in discussions, to promote media literacy and strengthen democracy.
The role of the Lëtzebuerger Journal
We lend our expertise and language competence in order to take part in the further development, the translation and the validation of the Methodkit.
- Over 20 podcast series produced in 2021
Our extensive experience in audio production has helped in making sure that the cards reflect the on-field reality.
- In-house training and workshops
We tested the kit with our team to make sure that a clear and understandable approach to practice could be adopted.
A collective project with local partners
In addition to the Lëtzebuerger Journal, the BTS Media Writing of the Lycée classique de Diekirch as well as Arcus Digiloom have also been involved in the development of the project with help in anchoring it in practice and local expertise.
