Debbie Kirsch runs the Devï and Sukhā shops in Luxembourg, where she sells handmade clothing and decorations. With her passion for sustainability and community, she has developed a unique recipe for success. A portrait.

It's a sunny Tuesday morning in July. I'm standing in front of Devï, one of Luxembourg's best-known shops for upcycled and handmade clothing. Founder Debbie Kirsch greets me with a warm hug. As we enter the shop, her eyes light up with joy and pride. "We only reopened the shop a few weeks ago – it was renovated for three months. Look how beautiful it's become, " says Debbie as she looks around.

The shop window is lovingly decorated with colourful patterns, handmade jewellery is laid out everywhere and crocheted bags in the shape of hearts provide accents. Elegant parquet flooring in a herringbone pattern runs throughout the shop, giving it a stylish, modern and dynamic atmosphere.

Debbie is not only celebrating the reopening of the shop, but also an anniversary: Devï is six years old. The young entrepreneur has also recently opened a second shop, Sukhā, which specialises in decoration, homeware and gifts. So there is a lot to celebrate.
