A bridge for businesses between Luxembourg and London

To put Luxembourg on the map, business clubs are springing up all over the world. An offshoot of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, the most recent of these was set up in London two years ago to defend companies that do not necessarily come from the financial centre.

After Berlin and Paris, London was still missing from the map of business clubs linked to Luxembourg. In addition to the Chamber of Commerce, embassies and other tools for promoting the country (Alfi, Luxembourg for Finance, etc), business clubs add another string to the bow of the Luxembourg ecosystem. The UK-Luxembourg business club was set up on the initiative of a handful of enthusiasts, including Christophe Brighi, the Chamber of Commerce's chargé d'affaires based in London.

Asif Chaudhury is a member of the board of directors and was partly responsible for the birth of the business club. While in Luxembourg for the festive season, we had the opportunity to discuss relations between the two countries, as well as his own exemplary career. It was on his way to the Luxembourg embassy in London to renew his passport that he met Christophe Brighi, who had noticed his profile and his solid background in economics. "He was waiting for me when I came to the embassy. He was interested in discussing various economic issues with me. We got on very well, and the subject of the business club quickly came up."
